Purpose

This Acceptable Use Policy describes activities that are not allowed when using Notioff (the "Service"). Its goal is to keep the Service safe, reliable, and trustworthy for everyone. This policy applies to all users and to all content and activity on the Service, and it is part of and incorporated into our Terms of Service. By using the Service, you agree to follow this policy.

We ask everyone to use the Service responsibly and with respect for other people, their rights, and the shared infrastructure that keeps the Service running. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you are responsible for making sure the people in your workspace understand and follow these rules.

Prohibited activities

You may not use the Service to engage in, encourage, or enable any of the following:

  • Illegal content or activity. Anything that violates applicable laws or regulations, or that promotes illegal activity.
  • Intellectual property infringement. Copying, posting, or sharing content that infringes the copyrights, trademarks, patents, trade secrets, or other rights of others.
  • Malware or harmful code. Uploading or distributing viruses, worms, ransomware, or any other malicious or harmful code.
  • Unauthorized access or security testing. Attempting to access accounts, systems, or data you are not authorized to access, or conducting security testing or scanning without our prior written permission.
  • Spam or unsolicited messaging. Sending spam, chain messages, or other unsolicited communications, or using the Service to facilitate them.
  • Harassment or abuse. Harassing, threatening, defaming, or abusing others, or posting content that is hateful or incites violence.
  • Disruption or reverse engineering. Attempting to disrupt, overload, or interfere with the Service, or to reverse engineer, decompile, or derive source code except where the law expressly permits it.
  • Unlawful storage or distribution. Using the Service to store or distribute unlawful material, including content that sexually exploits or endangers minors.
  • Impersonation or misrepresentation. Impersonating any person or organization, or misrepresenting your identity or affiliation.
  • Harvesting others' data. Collecting or harvesting personal information about others without authorization, including through automated scraping.
  • Circumventing controls. Attempting to bypass access restrictions, rate limits, authentication, or other protective measures.
  • Fraud or deception. Using the Service to facilitate fraud, phishing, or other deceptive or misleading practices.
  • Excessive load. Placing an unreasonable or disproportionate load on the Service, for example through excessive automated requests.

This list gives examples and is not exhaustive. We may treat other conduct that harms the Service, its users, or third parties as a violation of this policy.

Content responsibility

You are responsible for the content you create, upload, store, or share using the Service, and for making sure it complies with this policy and applicable law. You should have the rights and permissions necessary for any content you add, and you should keep your own copies of anything important to you.

When you share content with others or make it publicly accessible, you are responsible for choosing appropriate sharing settings and for the audience that can see it. We do not routinely monitor content, but we may review it when we receive a report or when necessary to operate the Service, protect users, or comply with the law. Responsibility for content rests with the people who create and share it, not with Notioff.

Enforcement and consequences

If we believe you have violated this policy, we may take action that is appropriate to the situation. Depending on the severity and circumstances, this may include:

  • Issuing a warning and asking you to correct the issue.
  • Removing or disabling access to content that violates this policy.
  • Suspending your access to the Service temporarily.
  • Terminating your account for serious or repeated violations.

When deciding what action to take, we consider factors such as the severity of the violation, whether it appears intentional, whether it is repeated, and the risk it poses to others. Where we reasonably can, we will aim to give notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue, but we may act immediately when necessary to protect the Service, our users, or third parties, or to comply with legal obligations. If a suspension results from a misunderstanding that is resolved, we will work to restore access. We may also report unlawful activity to the appropriate authorities.

Reporting abuse

If you become aware of content or activity that violates this policy, please let us know by emailing info@notioff.org. Please include enough detail for us to locate and review the issue, such as links or a description of the content and why you believe it violates this policy. We review reports and take appropriate action, and we handle complaints about intellectual property in accordance with applicable law. We appreciate reports made in good faith, as they help us keep the Service safe for everyone.

Changes

We may update this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the Service, our practices, or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
